GBP to MYR: Exchange Rate

The GBP/MYR rate is not published directly by the Bank of Portugal. It is derived from the two EUR reference rates for the same day: 1 EUR = 0.8582 GBP and 1 EUR = 4.7185 MYR.

The EUR/GBP pair is particularly significant in the post-Brexit context. Volatility has increased since the UK left the EU, driven by trade negotiations, regulatory divergence and differing monetary policies between the ECB and the Bank of England.

Relevant for Portuguese companies with interests in Southeast Asia, especially in the energy, electronics and tourism sectors. Malaysia has been investing in infrastructure and renewable energy.
